What is a childcenter?

A Childcenter (KC) is a facility for children from 0 to 13 years old, where they come to learn, play and develop. Inside a child center there is a far-reaching cooperation between childcare and primary education. We work as one team with one pedagogical vision.

From what age can I register my child at the Binck?

What is IB PYP?

Kindcentrum de Binck is a candidate school for the IB PYP programme. IB education has been developed by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). This organization offers programs for schools with the aim of creating students who contribute to a better and more peaceful world (IB mission). Some of the important pillars are (for more information click here):

  • To develop international mindedness in all children
  • Encouraging ownership of each child
  • Stimulate children’s inquiry attitude
  • Create education from units (modules). Here we think from big concepts and insights
  • Learning transdisciplinary skills (such as; being self-managing, pursuing ambitions, social and communication skills, etc.)
  • Take action in the Binck and in the neighbourhood
    What is a domain?

An open plan concept has many advantages. It is a vision of learning that is supported by the spaces in the Binck. Education and care take place in these open and large spaces. Children can develop, learn and relax here. Each floor is one domain, the furniture can be used flexibly and offers many opportunities to work (together) and relax.

Will my child be in a group or class?

Your child will be placed in a group with a mentor. This mentor is the first point of contact for you and your child. The meetings take place in this group. Your child will stay during the day in the domain and is supported by several colleagues and a larger group of children.

How is structure brought into my child's day?

Our days have a clear rhythm. This is how we start and close the education day with a meeting in the regular group. In addition, we make clear agreements about the desired behavior in and use of the domains with each other. The portfolio also includes a daily schedule specifically for your child.

    What is the parental contribution?

We have chosen not to ask for a voluntary parental contribution at this time. All students participate in our school activities. We do not exclude students, because their parents are unable or unwilling to pay the voluntary parental contribution.
